INDOSIZE A45 is a high efficiency rosin emulsion size with a high free rosin content, processed from a special modification of fortifiedrosin. INDOSIZE A45 is specifically designed for acid papermaking pH of 4.6 to 5.2. However, it can be used up to a pH of 6.0 through the use of inorganic and organic coagulant as fixing agent or charge neutralizer in addition to alum.
APPLICATION:
INDOSIZE A45 is usually added to the thick stock just before the fan pump. It is a highly effective sizing agent at dosages of 0.30% 0.70% on dry input as delivered emulsion. Actual dosage depends on paper grades produced, grades containing mechanical pulps or made at elevated water temperatures may lead to higher consumptions. INDOSIZE A45 needs from 5-10 kpt of alum as mordant when applied at headbox pH of 4.6-5.2. When applied at pH above 5.5 to 6.0, inorganic or organic coagulants or blends of both, must be used as fixing agent in addition to alum for optimum sizing effect
